Our Values

"The TCAG has blossomed into a dynamic organization with extensive offerings, including a range of public sports, cultural, and recreational programs suitable for all ages."

OUR HISTORY:

A Thorold Community Beginning

1981

The Thorold Community Activities Group (TCAG) was born out of the passion and dedication of a group of community volunteers. They believed that Thorold deserved its own vibrant recreation program and their determination laid the foundation for what would become a thriving organization.

The TCAG has come a long way from its humble beginnings in the Club Capri parking lot.

We progressed to small offices on Carleton Street before finally establishing our current home on Richmond Street.

Our current space on Richmond Street serves our community and is the heart of our operation.

Our commitment to accessibility and affordability remains strong.

This is where we facilitate the connection of our wonderful community.

We firmly believe that everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of our programs and services. In addition to offering our services at an affordable rate for the residents of Thorold and surrounding communities, TCAG also acts as a bustling hub for community meetings, collection drives, and various other community-access events and services.

Fast forward to today

Our program lineup is as diverse as our community itself, including energetic fitness classes like Zumba, yoga/chair yoga, kickboxing, karate, tai chi, cardio workouts, youth-oriented dance, cooking, floor hockey, and arts and crafts classes. We also cater to adult volleyball league enthusiasts, while also fostering intergenerational connections through activities like woodcarving.

We’re also proud to provide exceptional experiences to the younger members of our community through our school age day camps that operate through the summer and school breaks, ensuring that children have a fun and enriching environment to make memories and lasting friendships. Our fully licensed childcare centre offers a safe and nurturing space where little ones can learn, play, and grow under the care of our dedicated staff.

We are grateful for the support of our community, dedicated volunteers, staff, and participants who have helped shape the TCAG into what it is today. If you believe in our mission and the power of community engagement, join us! Fill out our [volunteer form]. All are welcome!
