"I am a single mother of three children and I was diagnosed with cancer in August a few years ago, and because I was unable to work my subsidy daycare was taken away from me. This brought on fear and worries because without childcare I would not be able to make it to Hamilton everyday for my chemo and radiation treatments to fight this disease and be here for my children. I spoke to the TCAG childcare staff and within a few days they told me that my children's childcare was taken care of so that I can under go my treatment...

All 3 of my children have been involved with the TCAG child care program and they all love to come and have taken away so much from the program my 2 older children are in high school and college but still make it a point to come say "Hi" and try to volunteer to help out when and where they can. Without the peace of mind that my children were taken care of I would not have been able to get through the treatments so thank you again.

It's because of the generosity of people who donate that I was able to overcome this disease and be able to return to work."

"My daughter Elis was a camper during this 2025 summer. My wife lost her job during the first week of the summer camp. My daughter was so sad that she would not be able to go to the camp anymore because we were not able to pay for it. But the sponsors of the camp helped us with our payments and my daughter was able to go to every camping week!

We are all super grateful for the help! My daughter was disappointed because she loved the first week of camp and she wanted to continue going throughout the summer. At the camp she had wonderful experiences and even learned how to swim! We were also struggling to be able to pay for swimming classes for her. And it was awesome that she was able to learn. Every thing about the camp was great. And we want to say thank you for the help. Without it, this wonderful experiences would not be possible."

"My older daughter has always been a helper and camp has helped to build her confidence in leadership and kindness. The last 2 years, she has been involved with the 'Leadership in Training' program. This has been a lot of fun for her and she has learned many great life skills that she is already putting to good use with the Babysitting and Home Alone courses!

The summer camp in Thorold has always been such a big deal for my daughters to attend. From swimming everyday to weekly outings, it truly puts my mind at ease that they are being well looked after and are not at home alone and in front of their electronics.

Being a single parent and trying to juggle work and ever-growing expenses is never ending and without the support of TCAG funding I would not have been able to send my daughters this year. I very much appreciate everything that has been done for us!"

"My kids have been enjoying the activities at TCAG for years. The Saturday drop off program is awesome for them because they always do seasonal activities and are so proud to show off what they've made! The baking class is the same, they can't wait to show me in the car and demolish it before they get home.

I myself have started trying some of the fitness classes and have really enjoyed them and been so impressed!

These are things we wouldn't be able to do without the financial assistance provided through TCAG. I'm very grateful to the staff at TCAG for running these excellent programs. I'm also thankful for the financial assistance which has allowed this mom to try out classes and motivated me to prioritize my own self care, something I would not be able to do otherwise. Thank you!"
