This unique program, specifically designed for youth ages 12-15 years, is an incredible opportunity to develop essential leadership and teamwork skills through engaging and interactive activities. This exciting summer program aims to instill the principles of leadership for future generations.
The Dan Pelletier Community Leadership Development Fund celebrates the enduring legacy of former Executive Director Dan Pelletier, and his unwavering dedication to fostering community leadership.
This fund is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of local leaders by providing training, resources, and mentorship for those ready to make a difference.
Each LIT session is three weeks in length and scaffolded to teach leadership skills. During each three-week session, LITs are introduced to leadership, the skills required to be a positive leader in their community along with group work, basic first aid training and team projects. LITs work towards leading activities for the younger campers and community engagement, along with daily swimming and weekly trips including an overnight session for LITs in session two, four, & six! Every summer, LITs not only experience the fun and lasting friendships of the program, but also grow personally and develop lasting tools for future success.
Through a combination of hands-on activities, workshops, and mentorship, our LIT counselors guide participants through a transformative experience. They facilitate personal growth, foster teamwork, and collaboration, and provide a safe and supportive environment for participants to explore and expand their leadership potential.
The ultimate goal of our LIT program extends far beyond the camp sessions. We strive to equip participants with life and leadership skills that will serve them well beyond their time in the program. Additionally, our LIT program acts as a potential employment pipeline, paving the way for participants to secure positions in our summer camp and recreation programs. We are proud to offer the LIT program at TCAG, providing a unique pathway for young folks to develop into confident and capable leaders. Whether aspirations lie in recreation, education, or other fields, our LIT program equips them with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed.
We can’t wait to work with you on this empowering journey!
